Quality workmanship since 1979.
A shop on Mound Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. One of the largest automotive soft-trim shops in the Midwest, run with concours-quality work as the standard.
Built by Dan and Terri Kreucher.
For more than four decades, Dan and Terri Kreucher have built Shelby Trim into one of the largest automotive soft-trim shops in the Midwest, offering concours-quality workmanship at a reasonable price.
Dan and Terri Kreucher founded Shelby Trim in 1979. For over 45 years they have served the general public and corporate accounts alike. From simple seat repairs to full interior restoration, their team has done it all.
In fact, the expert staff has worked on numerous show vehicles for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and Volkswagen. Examples of their work can be found at the Walter Chrysler Museum, the General Motors Heritage Center, at GM headquarters in the Renaissance Center, and perhaps in the car you’re driving.
Forty-five years of hard work, master craftsmanship, and quiet reputation are the foundation of everything Shelby Trim does today.
Carrying the standard forward.
Steve & Christen Gamache have purchased Shelby Trim from Dan and Terri, and are committed to the same standard of work the shop has been known for since 1979.
Steve brings more than thirty years of global automotive seating technical experience to Shelby Trim. Christen, as the owner of CG Accounting Services, brings over 3 decades of small business accounting experience.
Having retired from Lear Corporation after 31 years engineering automotive seating for practically all global OEMs, Steve understands many aspects of automotive interior systems, materials and assembly processes.
The day to day standard does not change with the new chapter. The same skilled craftsman. The same showroom. The same shop floor on Mound Road. The same commitment to craftsmanship and great customer service.
A clean, organised production floor.
Materials and vehicles stay protected. Every project gets dedicated table, bench, and shelf space.
The shop floor is laid out so we can process and store projects efficiently for the duration of work. Cars and parts are well-protected while they’re with us, and the workspace stays organised so nothing gets lost or damaged on its way through the build.
A friendly room. A wall of materials.
Walk in and a helpful, informative staff is ready to answer questions and put together a personalised estimate for your vehicle.
The showroom carries a wide selection of sample materials to browse. It’s an entertaining room to look around even before the conversation starts: cushions, fabrics, and finished pieces are on display alongside the working examples.
Twelve sewing machines, one purpose.
Twelve different types and variations of sewing machine on site. Enough to duplicate the original stitch style from just about any factory we have come across.
Different stitch styles, different gauge needles, different feeding mechanisms. Matching factory-original work means we keep the right machine ready for the right job, instead of forcing every piece through a single setup.
In-house metalwork keeps the project moving.
MIG and gas welders, a large bead-blast cabinet, a press brake, drill press, parts cleaner, band saws, table and miter saws, scroll saws, lift hoist, and parts buffers.
When a seat frame, convertible-top frame, or boat-seat wood foundation needs metalwork or refinishing, we do it in-house instead of shipping it out. That keeps the project on our schedule, which keeps it on yours.
